Brandon sits down with Sean McMahon, Executive Director of the Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance (IAWA). The two discuss the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy – a partnership between agricultural associations and conservation agencies to reduce Nitrogen and Phosphorus by 45% each to improve the Iowa watershed.

A crucial component to brewing great beer is a clean water profile. Brandon meets with Sarah Moellers and brewmasters from Toppling Goliath Brewing Company. The Decorah, Iowa based award-winning brewery has partnered with two additional breweries on a collaborative beer. Proceeds benefit Project A.W.A.R.E – a non-profit organization dedicated to cleaning up Iowa’s waterways.

Brandon enlists the guidance of Kent Kleckner, Owner of Bear Creek Anglers in the Driftless region of Northeast Iowa to experience the pristine conditions of Iowa’s trout fishing. Kent credits farmers with improved soil and water conservation practices for the resurgence of naturally reproducing brown trout in the Driftless Region.

Finally, Brandon catches up with Wade Bolson, a fly-tying enthusiast and proud member of Trouts Unlimited. Wade’s local chapter focus their efforts on stream restoration.
